Fall fun and other updates!

Hi everyone! First, we have to apologize. We started the blog and then just stopped. It wasn’t that we stopped altogether, but we have been focussing on our tiktok account along with working full-time and raising two kiddos, so updating like this fell aside. Our plan has been to start on other platforms after we got one up and going. But, we also know to reach as many people as we can with our journey and story, we need to go with all of the things so as of now we are going to try and do that more regularly. Jamie typically will be the one updating the blog but I’m sure Ben will jump in here from time to time. We also will try and post links to our videos on tiktok or youtube for you to click on if you so choose. But, I also know there are people who just prefer to read and not watch videos. And there are those of you who prefer a little of both. So, here’s to me, Jamie, trying to keep this family blog way more updated than I have.

Fall is in fulll-swing and I hope everyone is enjoying it. I know we are. Living in Ohio, both Ben and myself prefer having all four seasons and getting to experience the joys of each one. I would say there are positives and negatives regarding all four seasons so you get a little of both.

This past weekend we along with my parents took Gabbi and Andy who you are new here, are 5 and 1.5 years to a pumpkin patch. This is our third time going to this place as the first year, we went with my parents and took Gabbi when she was three. I was pregnant with Andy so i guess in a way he has gone all three years with us. Last year, we went with another couple and their daughter who is a good friend of Gabbi’s from daycare and to this day they are still friends even though they haven’t gone to daycare together in quite some time.

There was a lot to do at the farm and the kids even little guy had a blast. They started out playing in a huge bin of corn almost like a bed of corn. They had tunnels for the kids to crawl through along with digggers and just places for them to sit and play with the corn. Definitely a unique sensory experience. Biggest thing with little guy was he liked to throw the corn and that was the number one rule on the list of rules so my mom and i worked a lot with him on that. After that, we played some basketball. Mama even got to try and shoot. For those who are new and don’t know, I, Jamie am blind. You may be wondering how this worked. Well for this situation, my husband literally lined me up and then tapped the hoop so I knew approximately where to shoot. I never made it but it was fun to try. Ben held both kids up to ttry and shoot and we got pics and video of it. It was so cute. Then, they took turns rolling pumpkins at bowling pins which was cute too. Next up, we went to the tractor that was pulling kids around in a circle. Ben rode with Andy and both kids enjoyed that as well. We got some lunch which consisted of hotdogs and french fries. Afterwards, we took a hay ride across the farmto the pumpkin patch to pick out our pumpkins. There is a corn maze too, but this year we didn’t do it after we got lost in it forever last year. My dad and Gabbbi went hunting for their perfect pumpkins which lead them way up the hill and out of sight. Ben my mom andy and I stayed down by the entrence but walked a little ways til we found ours. Andy had a stroler but really hated having to be in it because he wanted to be all the places all the time.

Once everyone got their pumpkins, we waited for the wagon to come back and get us and rode back to the front of the farm. We took the pumpkins to the car, said our goodbyes and left. With littles so little, it was a perfect amount of time as Andy especially was geting tired by this point. It was nap time. We had so much fun and making the memories was wonderful.

We went home and watched some college football and just hung out the rest of the night.

Sunday was spent cleaning. We have been going live when we do this on tiktok to engage with others and its been very fun. Sunday’s adventure started because we had a mysterious smell in the fridge and could not figure it out, so we cleaned the entire thing out and wiped it down. It is thankfully much better. We continued with our cleaning all the rest of the kitchen as it definitely needed it.

yesterday, Ben and i were off me, for work as I work for the state, so had a holiday, and he took off. The daycare was closed, so Andy was home with us. Gabbi however, did have school.

i took today off just because i needed some time and haven’t taken much lately. Its rainy here and not a whole lot exciting is going on. I did however want to come on and say hi, we’re here, and doing well. This is my promise to you to try and update more. i have to write up more of our story as well so we’ll see if another post happens today. This was just a general update. Hope everyone is doing well!
