Introduction!
Hello to all, and welcome to Life Through Our Eyes! We are the Murphy family and have decided to tell our story through this blog, through videos, and other social media outlets so this is just one place you will find us. We are new at this, and it may take some time to get everything up and running. We hope to provide you with knowledge, a place to go for advice or to ask questions, but also for entertainment. We will be sharing our lives with you. We believe we have lots to offer in terms of different topics surrounding our interests, and life experiences. We also think it might be entertaining to share our story with others. This post is just a brief introduction about who we are and you’ll get to know more about us as we go.
Dad’s name is Ben, he is 42 years old and originally from Texas. He moved to Ohio in 2012 and met Jamie in 2014. Ben has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and currently works as an accountant. As Jamie would say, he plays with numbers all day long. He loves sports including soccer, basketball, football and baseball, and he is fiercely loyal to his favorite teams. He also loves spending time with his family, Star Wars and reading.
Mom’s name is Jamie, she is 40 years old and grew up in Ohio. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Kent State University and now works as a rehabilitation counselor helping people with disabilities find jobs. Jamie also has a disability herself. She was born with Leber’s Congenital Amaurosis, a genetic eye condition, and today doesn’t have much usable sight. She reads braille and listens to audio books. She uses assistive technology for various activities during her daily life. Jamie loves her family and being a mom. She loves helping others and hopes to make a difference. Jamie loves music, plays piano and sings, loves to read, and being with the people she most cares about.
Ben and Jamie met in the fall of 2014 and married in the summer of 2016. We will go into more details about how we met in future updates.
Gabbi is our inquisitive daughter. She will be starting kindergarten in the fall. She loves princesses, Frozen, Barbie, singing, dancing, swimming, and playing with her little brother.
Andy is our energetic son. He is almost a year and a half old. He was the perfect final addition to our family. He loves Ms. Rachel, Sesame Street, exploring everything he can, climbing all over his big sister, and playing with his toys.
We also currently have one pet, a Golden Retriever named Lucky. We got her in 2018 when she was 8 weeks old. She was our rainbow dog as we got her after our first miscarriage. She still acts very much like a puppy and loves to eat anything her little human brother shares with her. She likes to play all the time and snuggle when people want to.
